Blood Lions – ‘Bred for the Bullet’ ; a shocking film about a multi – billion dollar breeding and canned lion hunting industries in South Africa. Within South Africa, there are as many as 7000 lions held in captivity.
This film shows the harsh realism of these vast industries breeding lions, only to have them shot and killed by trophy hunters who pay up to $50,000 for a definite kill. Not only are these lions bred for trophy hunting, but also contribute to the lion bone trade. Lion bones are being used in traditional Chinese medicine, rather than tiger bones in which were used originally.
Although canned hunting is legal in South Africa, it does not justify killing beautiful innocent lions just for sport. Speak up and take action! For more information, visit http://www.bloodlions.org/
